Jürgen Rolf Dieter Mossack (born 20 March 1948) is a German-born Panamanian lawyer. He is the co-founder of Mossack Fonseca (along with Ramón Fonseca Mora), a former law firm headquartered in Panama City.

The Moccasck and his firm became globally known in 2016 when it found itself at the centre of the so-called Panama Papers affair, It uncovered the activities of the offshore finance industry. Mossack Fonseca set up more than 214,000 shell companies around the world, some of which were found to have been used for illegal purposes, including fraud and tax evasion.[2]

In 2017, he was arrested and jailed in February 2017.[3]

In March 2018, the firm announced it was shutting down.[4]

Gary Oldman played him in a Netflix movie about the Panama Papers titled The Laundromat (2019).

In Octobre 2020, prosecutors in Cologne, Germany, issued international arrest warrants for Jürgen Mossack and associate Ramón Fonseca Mora, The charges against them include complicity in tax evasion and forming an organization criminal, the company being considered a central element of the investigation.[5]
